Love is Found in All Kinds of Places

I've seen it happen in a Chess club, in a disco, in a cinema, and I've heard about it happening in a festival. Now, you can't tell me that all of these places are intended for finding love, but it still happened. Let me kick it up a notch. Given the variety of places where people can find love, is it so hard to imagine that people also find love in a virtual world such as Second Life?

I put it to you that I personally know 3 couples, not counting Cori and myself, who found love in Second Life and who are still together (in real life).

I'll even go so far as to say that finding love in a virtual world has an advantage over finding love in (what Second Life residents call) 'real life.' Think about it! If you see someone (assuming, of course, that you can see), especially if it's for the first time, then can you honestly say that a person's look plays no role in what you think of them?

Now, don't get me wrong here. A person's behavior and values - what I refer to here as their inside - are important, but let's be honest. Your judgment of a person is bound to begin with what they look like. It's unavoidable.

In contrast, the simple fact that you can't see what other people look like in a virtual world such as Second Life, invariably leads to you getting to know them 'from the inside out.' Which is to say, you get to know their values before you see what they look like.
